Sunday 28th

Had a really great day with the gang. Left the house at 8am and headed on the I4 to the I95 to St. Augustine, the oldest city in the US. It was lovely, very Spanish and colonial all in one !

Learnt a lot about Henry Flagler who seemed to have created the St. Augustine we see today. He built churches, hotels, railroads etc. We went on a trolley ride which taught us the history. Jess made notes and gave us a quiz when we got back !

We then spent time on St. Augustine beach, the waves were really big and stron but apparently they had been a lot worse during the week as a result of Hurricane Irene. We enjoyed jumping the breaking water....

Sandy and wet we got in the car and headed south to Daytona, passing the International Speedway track on our way to the beach where we drove the car on the sand and the children went swimming in the evening sand.

As the tide came in we were asked to move the car so we headed back to Orlando. The car is a real state !

Had tea in Taco Bell, now home in PJs watching the music awards on TV.

A good day x
